Mia 3 times over

Mia-x3 Originally uploaded by ucitysoccer

After reading the off camera lighting blog, Strobist.com for the past year or so, I finally took the plunge and bought a Strobist kit from Midwest Photo Exchange. Great customer service compliments of Moishe & Lily by the way. My new stuff arrived on Friday, so today (Saturday) was my first chance to play around. Mia was the only one home with me, so she became the guinea pig. Then I printed out these three photos and put them in a triple frame that Jennifer has been saving for the past four years. I liked the look so much that I wanted to replicate that on my flickr page.

I have started a new set on my flickr page specifically for my off camera flash (o.c.f.) practice so everyone can follow along and see if I can learn to do this. Wish me luck.

Pumpkin Farm

Pumpkins with focus on one stemWe did our second annual trip to Theis Farm this year to get pumpkins for Halloween and have some fun playing. This year a nice surprise was meeting up with Sophia from UCCC. The photos tagged with pumpkinfarm are probably what you expect them to be. One funny thing is that you will see photos from this year as well as last, and Mia is wearing the same sweater. As always, see the rest of the photos on my flickr page with the tag: pumpkinfarm.

Party on the rocks

I was able to photograph Paige & Darren's wedding on July 1, 2006. I had a great time as there was a ton of time for me to make a variety of different photos at a variety of locations around Forest Park. I took a couple at the hotel where the wedding party got ready, then we went to CID (where Paige & Darren met) and worked our way to the Jewel Box in Forest Park for the ceremony. They even had more time for photographs after the ceremony prior to the reception at the Living World in the St. Louis Zoo. I have added just a few of the photos from that day to my flickr site. You can see them by looking in Paige & Darren's set or by the tag, "paigedarren".

A special thanks to Bob for putting me in touch with the happy couple and especially to Kate "Winner" McHugh who took a bunch of candid shots and help me tremendously throughout the entire day. I could not have done this without Kate.
